Binsted Nursery are recruiting 8 Nursery Workers for the 2018 season, to join their busy nursery team. These roles involve a wide range of horticultural tasks, and may include:

  • Despatch work: selecting, tray up, collecting, preparing plants for despatch, labelling, packing and cling wrapping following procedure as instructed
  • Potting: machine and hand, planting, setting down
  • Watering using hose and lance
  • Plant care: trimming, weeding, caning and tying
  • Propagation: filling trays, collecting, preparing and sticking in the cuttings
  • Mini-tractor driving, assembly and moving of Danish trolleys
  • Plant hygiene including disposal of dead or diseased plants and sweeping up
  • Assisting with maintenance work on nursery structures, roads and facilities
  • Ensuring Health and Safety and other procedures are adhered to

 

Ideal candidates would already have experience in Horticulture, and be willing to work flexibly in all weathers.

Minimum fixed term contract from now until the end of June 2018, provided probationary period completely satisfactorily. Hours as follows:

  • Minimum 40 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday 08:00 – 16:45
  • Requirement for overtime at short notice 07:00 – 17:45
  • Work on Saturdays may be required (usually half a day)
